Sourdough Oyster Crackers are crispy, tender, and easy to make! Furthermore, these Sourdough Oyster Crackers are made using Sourdough Discard. Finally, these crackers are cut in the shape of circles, hence the “Oyster” name, and perfect for charcuterie boards, and travel snacks, and are kid-friendly!
Sourdough Oyster Crackers Ingredients
- King Arthur’s Organic, All-Purpose Flour
- Pink Salt
- Kinder’s Garlic Herb Seasoning (No Salt)
- Sourdough Discard
- Unsalted Butter
- Gruyere Cheese
- Parmesan Cheese
- Chives (Thyme or Rosemary work too)
- Cold Water
Crafting the Cracker Dough
- First, add all of the ingredients to a Bosch Universal Mixer.
- Next, mix the cracker dough until small crumbles form.
- Then, add more water, 1 tbsp. at a time, to bring the dough together.
- Next, turn off the mixer and remove the dough.
- Finally, flatten the cracker dough into a disc, cover it with plastic wrap, and chill for 30 minutes or up to 2 days.

Chill the Dough
Cutting the Cracker Dough
- First, preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Next, line a baking sheet with parchment paper, or a silicone sheet, or spray with Avocado Oil to prevent the crackers from sticking.
- Then, divide the dough in half.
- Next, lightly flour a flat surface such as your kitchen counter.
- Then, with a rolling pin, roll out the dough as thin as possible (about 1/8 inch thick).
- Next, cut the dough using a 1 1/2 inch mini, round cookie cutter (alternatively you could use a sharp knife).
- Then, place the unbaked crackers onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Optional: Pierce a small hole at the top of each cracker using the sharpest point of a knife.
- Next, repeat steps 4-7 until all of the cracker dough is used.
- Finally, place the unbaked crackers in the refrigerator for 10 minutes prior to baking.

Baking and Enjoying the Sourdough Oyster Crackers
- Bake the Sourdough Oyster Crackers at 325 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-18 minutes (or more depending on thickness).
- Next, remove the baked crackers from the oven.
- Finally, allow the crackers to cool completely on the sheet pan prior to serving. Enjoy!

Notes
You can prepare the dough in advance for 2 days. You will leave the dough in the refrigerator wrapped in plastic wrap until ready to use.
If you do not like chives, feel free to use your favorite herb in place of it.
