Crafting the Venison Taquitos
- Once the cooked Venison has cooled, pour it into a mixing bowl.
- Note: If you don’t want to dirty another dish (understandable), you can also mix the cheese directly in the cooled skillet.
- Next, add the shredded cheese and mix into the meat.
- Then, preheat a clean nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- Next, once the skillet is preheated, place one tortilla in the pan and warm it for 30 seconds – 1 minute per side. Place them into a kitchen towel to keep them warm.
- Note: Repeat until all tortillas are warmed.
- Then, place a heaping spoonful (about 1/4 c.) of the Venison and cheese mixture into each tortilla.
- Next, tightly roll up the tortillas and set them on the air fryer tray.
- Finally, it’s time to air fry!

Air Frying the Venison Taquitos
- First, ensure the Venison Taquitos are in a single layer in each of the air fryer baskets (our air fryer has two baskets, if you only have one, you’ll need to work in batches).
- Next, air fry the Venison Taquitos at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes.
- Then, flip the taquitos to the second side and air fry them for another 2 minutes.
- Finally, remove the “fried” taquitos to a wire rack, or the air fryer rack to cool slightly.
- Note: If you are working in batches, you can place the “fried” taquitos, on a wire rack, in the oven at 200 degrees, to stay warm before serving.
