Fig Cranberry Jam

Fig Cranberry Jam is a delightful and flavorful preserve made from a combination of ripe figs and tart cranberries. This jam is typically prepared by cooking these two fruits together with sugar and often a touch of citrus juice to create a sweet and tangy spread.

Creating the Fig Cranberry Jam

  1. First, if you’re using dried figs, presoak them for at least 6 hours prior to making the jam.
    • Note: if you are using fresh figs, you can prepare the figs by slicing them in half.
  2. First, in an All-Clad pot, combine all of the ingredients.
  3. Next, turn the heat to medium, and stir to combine all of the ingredients.
  4. Then, bring the mixture to a slow boil, stir, and reduce the heat to a simmer.
  5. Next, allow the jam ingredients to simmer for 15-20 minutes, with the lid on.
  6. Then, turn the heat off and remove the lid from the pot.
  7. Next, allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes.
  8. Finally, using a potato masher, immersion blender, or regular blender, blend to the desired consistency.

Bring to a Boil; Reduce to a Simmer for 15-20 Minutes

Then, bring the mixture to a slow boil, stir, and reduce the heat to a simmer.
Simmer for 20 Minutes
Next, allow the jam ingredients to simmer for 15-20 minutes, with the lid on.

Cool Slightly; Blend to Desired Consistency

Then, turn the heat off and remove the lid from the pot. Allow the mixture to cool for 10 minutes. Finally, using a potato masher, immersion blender, or regular blender, blend to the desired consistency.

Serving the Fig Cranberry Jam

Fig Cranberry Jam is delicious in a variety of recipes, including served alongside holiday turkey or ham. Some suggested recipes to include this jam in are –

Storing the Fig Cranberry Jam

However, if you are looking to prep and store the Fig Cranberry Jam for a later date, I’d suggest storing it in an airtight container, in the refrigerator, for up to 1 week in the refrigerator. On the other hand, you can store this jam in an airtight container, in the freezer, for up to 3 months.

  • 1/3 c. Orange Juice
  • 2 tbsp. Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. Pink Salt
