Cherry Pie Cookies

Cherry Pie Cookies are the best components of a sweet, tart, and delicious Cherry Pie. In addition, these cookies are made using homemade Cherry Pie Filling, sweet and buttery cookie dough, and sparkling sugar for texture. Finally, these cookies are great for baking with kids, serving at holiday parties, plating up for any patriotic celebration, or enjoying on any ordinary day.

  1. First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Next, in a large mixing bowl, combine the wet ingredients.
  3. Then, mix until combined.
  4. Next, add the dry ingredients, and mix until just combined.
  5. Finally, the cookie dough is ready!

Combine the Wet Ingredients

First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Next, in a large mixing bowl, combine the wet ingredients.

Finally, the cookie dough is ready!
  1. First, pour the cup of Sparkling Sugar into a glass mixing bowl.
  2. Next, using a tablespoon measuring spoon or a small cookie scoop, scoop out the cookie dough.
  3. Then, roll the ball of cookie dough in your hands and then place it into the Sparkling Sugar. Gently flatten the ball of cookie dough.
  4. Finally, place the flattened disc of dough onto a Nonstick Baking Sheet. Repeat steps 2-4 until all of the cookie dough is on the baking sheets (or work in batches).

First, pour the cup of Sparkling Sugar into a glass mixing bowl. Next, using a tablespoon measuring spoon or a small cookie scoop, scoop out the cookie dough. Then, roll the ball of cookie dough in your hands and then place it into the Sparkling Sugar.

Gently flatten the ball of cookie dough. Finally, place the flattened disc of dough onto a Nonstick Baking Sheet. Repeat steps 2-4 until all of the cookie dough is on the baking sheets (or work in batches). [Note: you can also use a mini muffin tin to hold the shape].

Filling the Cherry Pie Cookies

  1. First, once the discs of cookie dough are on the baking sheet, gently use your thumb or the back of a teaspoon measuring spoon to create a deep indent.
  2. Next, smooth the dough if any cracks appear.
  3. Finally, fill each indent with 1 to 2 tsp. of Cherry Pie Filling. Repeat steps 1-3 until all cookies are filled.
    • Note: You are aiming to overfill the indent, so they are still filled after baking.

Baking the Cherry Pie Cookies

  1. Once the oven is preheated, bake the cookies for 15 to 18 minutes, or until the cookie is slightly golden and the filling is set.
  2. Next, remove the baked cookies from the oven, and allow them to cool slightly.
  3. Then, place the cooling cookies onto a wire, cooling rack, and allow them to cool to room temperature.
  4. Finally, plate these festive cookies on a wooden serving tray, or holiday cookie plate, or serve them to your family right off of the wire, cooling rack. Enjoy!
