Homemade Blueberry Pie Filling is sweet, tart, and the perfect Spring and Summer bite! Furthermore, this delicious filling is made with fresh blueberries that are simmered with 7 simple ingredients! For the Blueberry Filling

Making the Blueberry Filling

  1. First, in an All-Clad Nonstick Pot, place all the filling ingredients.
  2. Next, using a silicone spatula or wooden spoon, stir to mix all of the ingredients.
  3. Then, turn the stove heat to medium and allow the mixture to come to a boil.
  4. Next, place a lid on the pot, and reduce the heat to low (or simmer).
  5. Then, allow the Blueberry filling to simmer for 15-20 minutes. Turn off the heat.
  6. Next, either use a potato masher to smash the blueberries or pour the mixture into a Ninja Blender and process until the desired consistency.
  7. Then, pour the mixture into a glass jar.
  8. Finally, allow the Blueberry filling to cool to room temperature. You can store the filling in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks!
If you need to use the filling immediately, place it into a glass, measuring cup and let it cool to room temperature prior to using.

Pour the Ingredients into an All-Clad Nonstick Pot

First, in an All-Clad Nonstick Pot, place all the filling ingredients.
Add the Blueberries
Add the ingredients one by one and then stir to combine. First, the blueberries are added.
Add the Orange Juice
Next, the orange (or lemon) juice gets poured in.
Add the Cinnamon
Then, add the ground, Cinnamon.
Add the Salt
Next, add the Pink Salt.
Add the Coconut Sugar
Then, add the Coconut Sugar.
Add the Cornstarch
Finally, add the Cornstarch.

Stir to Mix the Ingredients

Stir to Combine
Stir to combine all of the ingredients using a wooden or silicone spoon.
Add the Butter
Next, add the tbsp. of Unsalted Butter and bring the mixture to a light boil.

Bring the Mixture to a Boil; Then Reduce to a Simmer

Then, bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 15-20 minutes (stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning).

It’s Ready to Blend

Next, either use a potato masher to smash the blueberries or pour the mixture into a Ninja Blender and process until the desired consistency.

Ingredients

  • 4 c. Blueberries
  • 3 tbsp. Cornstarch
  • 1/4 c. Orange Juice (or Lemon Juice)
  • 1/4 tsp. Pink Salt
  • 1/2 tsp. Ground Cinnamon
  • 3/4 c. Granulated (or Coconut) Sugar (or Honey)
  • 1 tbsp. Unsalted Butter

Notes

This filling can be made in advance and is great to use in a variety of desserts, slightly thinned out, and used as a blueberry syrup for pancakes and waffles, and more!

If you're unable to find fresh blueberries, you're also welcome to make this using frozen blueberries (you may have to adjust the liquid in the mixture due to the thawing the berries will do as they cook).
