Pesto Breadsticks are the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer. These addicting breadsticks are made with Sourdough Pizza Dough, Spinach Walnut, or Spinach Pistachio Pesto, mixed Italian cheeses, twisted into a breadstick, and brushed with melted butter. Then, they are baked in the oven until they’re crispy on the exterior and tender on the interior. Finally, these are the ultimate appetizers or side dishes and will accompany various meals.

Roll Out the Dough into a Rectangular Shape

Building and Cutting the Breadsticks
- First, take one rectangular piece of dough and place it in front of you.
- Next, take 1/2 cup of Pesto and spread it along the top of the rolled-out dough.
- Then, sprinkle the cheese generously over the Pesto.
- Next, fold the dough in half with the shorter sides matching up so that the cheese and Pesto are stacked inside.
- Finally, using a pizza cutter, cut the dough into approximately 12-18, 1-inch strips.

- First, twist each strip gently keeping as much of the filling inside as possible.
- Next, repeat this process until all of the breadsticks have been “twisted.”
- Then, place the breadsticks onto a nonstick or silicone-sheet-lined baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
- Finally, cover the baking sheet with a slightly damp tea towel, set it in the refrigerator, and let it rest for 30 minutes.
