Delicata Squash, Kale, Gouda, and Hot Honey Sourdough Pizza

The Squash, Kale, Gouda, and Hot Honey Sourdough Pizza is a unique and flavorful twist on classic pizza, combining sweet, savory, and spicy elements.

Furthermore, the base is a tangy Sourdough crust, baked to a golden crisp. Roasted slices of Delicata squash bring a natural sweetness, paired with earthy sautéed Kale for balance. Creamy, slightly nutty Gouda cheese melts over the top, adding richness.

Preparing to Bake the Sourdough Pizza Crust

  1. First, preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Next, place a Baking Steel or a Pizza Stone into the oven to preheat.
  3. Then, divide the Sourdough Pizza dough into quarters or halves.
    • Note: Quarters are perfect for personal sized pizzas; halves are great for a few people to eat off.
  4. Next, dust a sheet of parchment paper with cornmeal.
    • Note: This will help create a crunchier and crispier crust.
  5. Then, place the dough on top of the cornmeal dusted parchment paper. Using your fingers, press the dough into a thin crust.
    • Note: The thinner you can make the pizza dough and/or crust, the better because it will “puff” in the oven.
  6. Finally, once the oven and stone are preheated, place the pizza dough onto the stove and par-bake for 5-8 minutes, or until lightly browned.

  1. Once the Sourdough pizza dough has par-baked, remove it from the oven and set it aside to cool, slightly.
  2. Next, carefully lay the thin slices of Delicata Squash on top of the par-baked pizza crust. Season the squash with salt and pepper.
  3. Then, place half of the Gouda slices on top of the squash.
  4. Next, place the pieces of Kale over the squash. Lay the rest of the cheese on top of the Kale.
  5. Then, drizzle the Kale with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  6. Finally, trickle the Hot Honey over the top of the pizza and around on top of the exposed crust.

  2. Next, bake the pizza for 12-15 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the vegetables are cooked.
    • Note: If the Kale browns quicker than the crust bakes, carefully drape a foil tent over the top.
  3. Finally, remove the baked pizza from the oven and let it cool, slightly, before slicing.

Serving and Storing the Sourdough Pizza

  1. Once the pizza has cooled slightly, use a pizza cutter or a sharp knife to cut it into pieces to enjoy.

  3. Finally, to store the leftovers, place the pizza in an airtight container and in the refrigerator for up to three days. To reheat it, place it in an Air Fryer for 8-10 minutes at 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
