Blueberry Basil Lemonade Ingredients
- Water
- Agave Nectar or Raw Honey
- Blueberries
- Basil Leaves
- Lemon Juice
- Ginger Kombucha, Lite Ginger Beer, or Cold Sparkling Water

Crafting the Blueberry Basil Lemonade
- First, in an All-Clad Nonstick Pot, add the water, agave, and blueberries.
- Next, bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, and cook for 5 minutes.
- Then, mash the blueberries a bit to release more flavor and color.
- Next, remove the saucepan from the heat and let it cool.
- Then, strain the syrup through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sleeve; discard the solids.
- Then, add the blueberry syrup, lemon juice, basil, and sparkling beverage to a pitcher.
- Finally, stir to combine, and then serve over ice cubes with fresh blueberries and a basil leaf as a garnish.

Storing the Blueberry Basil Lemonade

The Blueberry Basil Lemonade should be stored in a pitcher or sealed, large Mason Jar for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Finally, if you make this lemonade in advance, wait until the day of serving to add sparkling water, Kombucha, or liquor.

- 2 c. Ginger Kombucha, Lite Ginger Beer, or Cold Sparkling Water (or liquor if turning it into a cocktail)

- First, in an All-Clad Nonstick Pot, add the water, agave, and blueberries.

- Then, cover it with a lid and let it steep for 20 minutes.
- Next, strain the syrup through a cheesecloth or fine mesh sleeve; discard the solids.
- Then, add the blueberry syrup, lemon juice, and sparkling beverage to a pitcher.
- Finally, stir to combine and then serve over ice cubes with fresh blueberries and a basil leaf as a garnish.
Notes
You can serve the Blueberry Basil Lemonade immediately after making it, or you can let it sit in the refrigerator for about an hour prior to serving.
Additionally, you can add water to the lemonade to stretch the homemade beverage and/or dilute it a bit if it's too tart.
Finally, if you want to turn this into a cocktail, add Prosecco, Vodka, etc. instead of the Kombucha.
