Bourbon Pecan Caramel Sauce is rich, smooth, and inspired by flavors of the South. Furthermore, Bourbon is mixed with luscious homemade caramel sauce, and toasted pecans, and poured over the top of various desserts. In conclusion, Bourbon Pecan Caramel Sauce was inspired by the flavors of Mardi Gras and is a recipe you can use throughout the year.

Caramel Sauce Ingredients
- Light Brown Sugar
- Heavy Cream
- Unsalted Butter
- Breckenridge Bourbon
- Pink Salt
- Chopped Pecans
Making the Caramel Sauce
- First, combine the sugar, cream, butter, and salt in a saucepan, and bring it to a boil over medium-low heat (don’t stir – just keep a close eye on it so it doesn’t boil over or burn).
- Then, simmer the caramel sauce for about 10 minutes.
- Next, cut the heat off of your stove.
- Then, stir in the Bourbon of your choice and Pecans (I’ve used Breckenridge Bourbon and Maker’s Mark in this recipe before and both work well).
- Finally, let the caramel sauce stand until slightly thickened and cooled to room temperature (15-20 minutes).

Ways to Use and Serve the Sauce
Bourbon Pecan Caramel Sauce is highly versatile and can be used on top or throughout various desserts. Some of the best ways I have personally used this sauce are –
- After the caramel sauce cools slightly, pour it on top of the eggless cheesecake to make Bourbon Pecan Caramel Cheesecake,
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over unbaked Mardi Gras Monkey Bread to make a praline-like taste on top,
- Pour the caramel sauce on top of dairy-free ice cream such as Oatly Vanilla Ice Cream, and
- More!
